A recent Runner's World article discussed the virtues of running with friends and said no group is too small to have your own little club. They talked about two guys who have been meeting for years to do 7 at 7 and how they keep each other going.
It got me thinking about how much fun I have with Art and Amy. We don't get together very often, we all have careers, spouses, kids, but when we do, we seem to have a ball. We will run in blizzards if it is the time we planned to be together. And, we will like it. Alot!
Amy and I find time to meet occasionally outside of running but I'm not sure either of us has seen Art yet in anything but running clothes. That's okay. We all have busy lives. But, we seem to share this running thing in common. And you know what? It really is Easier With Friends. (creative Miss Amy came up with the name). I did my first tri with Amy and had a ball and cussed my way through my first 10k with Art. :D We also did an awesome 12 miler together that is one of my favorite runs...

So, here's to good running pals!!!
EWF met for 3 miles last night. We went out fast (well for the three of us) and many items were discussed. It's probably the fastest 3 miles I've run in quite a while!! Looking forward to another run soon.

LOVE IT!!!!!! I hope I can run with you some day!
I am so jealous! I'd love to run with you and Amy and Art too... :)
My running ladies (who I really need to email) and I met for breakfast in non-running clothes. It was odd. Make-up (for them) and all. It was awesome to have a full not out of breath conversation. LOL.
I am starting to think I need to run with people from time to time..
I had a ball - so good we are still running together a year later. So much changes in a year but running stays the same. And for that, I am glad.
Amy
Running with friends is what running is all about, IMO. Good post.
EWF! Love it!
It is helpful. Especially with the long runs. But I remain somewhat of a loner for my running. Part of why I like it.
I like it!! EWF

I love running with my partner. It's just her and me, running our miles together. We can't think of training for a marathon solo now. :)
Great name & logo. And ain't it the truth!
Hi Nancy - thanks for your site - I've been lurking for a while and love your encouragement and fun ideas. I'm in for the 1 mile challenge. I totally agree that running is easier with friends - unfortunately all my real life running partners are injured - so I'm so happy to find some virtual running friends!
So I'm not going to do the one-mile challenge, because I blew out my legs at HtC running way too fast (for me anyway), but I'm so excited about the "virtual race" concept. Can't wait for the next one!
Love, love, love it!! Everything IS EWF!! Now if you all lived closer . . .
So true. Time flies with friends to divert your attention.
That is great glad the EWF had a great stong fun run last night.
i'm hoping to run w/you someday nanc!
Yay for running with friends! I LOVE the logo...you're all going to have lots of fun!!!
EWF, what a great idea! I had one of my first "WF" runs last night and I wouldn't say it was easier, but it was definitely faster and more fun!
sounds like our Tumbleweed running club. And looky there, J-mom is trying to swap teams. We should have a Virtual team day.
Right on Nancy, everything IS easier with friends....Amy, I LOVE your new logo, very nice!
EWF, is why I read your blog Nancy, you just make it "easy"...
thanks!
Good stuff. Agree, it *is* easier with friends. :-)
I'm so jealous. I have no one to run with :(

In order to make your runs better and better your body should be able to perform its best. I have found a way to keep good shape without overtraining and without exhausting my body. Right nutrition is one of the key factors. Still, sometimes everyday meals can not provide all necessary nutrients. That is why I am taking nutritional supplements. As I am strongly opposed to all kinds of chemicals, I was looking for the natural supplement, consisting basically of vitamins. And I have found the one - Second Wind by Military Grade. This is new vegetarian post-workout supplement which increases muscles longevity and keeps me toned. This product helps muscles to recover quickly and reduces the soreness. It is available at amazon: h t t p ://www.amazon.com/Post-workout-Recovery-soreness-Vegetarian-Military/dp/B00HN6ROX0/ref=pd_bxgy_hpc_text_y
Now I always feel prepared for my best runs.
