It's the Eve of Something Big

i wish i were younger
i wish i had less wrinkles
i wish i had less pounds
i wish 07 had been my marathon year
i wish i had learned so many lessons so much sooner
some, i am still learning
but oh, what i do have....
i am so so blessed.
1 wonderful amazing man
2 sweet little men
who will still cuddle mom and say,
"that's enough kisses, mom!"
love my house,
great job, amazing boss, the best co-workers,
even great in-laws (can you imagine?)
and 2008 waiting for me
and whatever i want to do.
40 ain't so bad.

Happy Birthday Nancy!

You are entering into some great years. I didn't start running until I was 44. I'm 47 now and have run 4 marathons. I just got finished running 3 in 9 weeks.

Keep pressing toward the finish line.

Woops, that previous one was me. I should probably learn to read before I post. So here goes again:

Happy birthday Nancy! Keep going strong like you have been and 40 will feel like 20!

Happy happy day! And this 44-year-old can attest to the fact that your 40s ROCK! I could totally kick my 20-year-old and 30-year-old butt down the block (although I'd probably have to take a bit more ibuprofen at the end) :-O

Good thing there's not a 40th of December and it was your birthday on that date. Otherwise, I know you'd have us all out there doing 40 miles to celebrate. Thank goodness for things like that, and happy birthday!

Happy Birthday Nancy, and as they say here in Belgium, welcome to tram number 4 - you are in great company!

That about says it all. You quite obviously have a lot of things to be thankful for and that is a wonderful thing. But all to often people tend to focus on the negatives in their lives and not the positives. They could learn an awful lot from somone like you with your wonderful outlook on life.
I wish you a happy New Year and best of luck in '08!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

40 isn't so bad, really. I think I'm healthier in my 40s than I was in my 30s. And enjoying life more.

It's all good. :)
