Amy and I met over lunch for a run at Gray's Lake. We had hoped to go "long" but I got there a few minutes late and she needed to leave a little earlier than planned. We still got in 4 nice miles and it was just right for my feet to get used to road miles instead of treadmill miles. It was absolutely gorgeous, about 38 degrees and sunny but still the beautiful snow cover. We both got warm pretty quick (yes, fair weather friends, you only need one, maybe two layers in weather like this before you are nice and toasty). It was a great day to run with a friend!

February looked good for you!
And I'm with you on the whole getting used to road miles instead of treadmill miles.
The variety that biking and swimming add to your routine really make it more fun. Glad you're enjoying it as much as I am!
Feb numbers are looking good! I hear you on only 1 or 2 layers in 38 degrees. Always overdress.
I meant to say I always overdress. Hit publish too soon. Anyways keep up the great work.
Nicely done! Beautimous! Running is awesome. Throw some swimming and biking in there, and you have fudge brownies with ice cream :-)
Gorgeous picture. Looks like a fabulous place to run.
Phooey on the treadmill - road miles and fresh air when it's this nice, is the cheapest therapy in town. Ok, Wes's fudge brownies and ice cream r good therapy too. :)
Hi Nancy, i see you run your 4 miles in about 51 min. I do my 4 in just about 52 min. We are doing pretty much the same pace right? I do not know i never really keep pace for each mile. Sounds fun to do though!
I never thought to buy a book and teach myself how to knit. I am thinking all the info may be online?
Have a great weekend running! It's snowing here, tomorrow = no running for me!!!
Michelle
May March prove to be as productive, if not more, than your February. Have loads of fun :-)!
Look at that! Looks like a lovely winter run. :)
Nice stats for February!
Looks good!! Your weight is fantastic!
Heck yea you are in the right direction! Terrific Feb, Nancy. Yee Haw on the WL fantastic :-)
That pic looks awesome, still don't think I am that hard core. Surely would be a Blockbuster day in that.
Yup, I still find it amazing how quickly you can heat up in near freezing temperatures. As long as it's not windy you'll be sweating in less than five minutes.
Nice picture Nancy! good for you to get out with Amy. Our weather is nasty this week (again), March is here and we were hit with another 15cm of snow over night.
Today is a 6K, Sunday 19K, you are right, don't over dress for the winter runs!
Have a great weekend
Looking good Nancy! In fact I think your running totals are more than mine for the month of Feb. Oy, oy, oy could this weather be done with already? LOL
Charming bridge!!
Congratulations on February.
"Headed in the right direction"..YES!!!
beutiful bridge nice job on the run
Nice job on your outdoor run. I can't wait to get back out there!
You have made great gains since January. Keep it up!
Did it look like that when you ran? Chilly, but congrats on the run!
Excellent month, Nancy! Looks like you are getting in a little bit of everything into your schedule. I think that's great. I'd like to add a few categories to my training. Way to end the month of feb.
It's funny - cause I just left Taryrn's blog where she's got sunburn already, then come over and see the picture of snow on yours. Ouch for the both of you.
Looks like a great month, Nancy. Great job.
That picture is breathtaking! Sounds like you had a great run... and a good month.
Looking at that picture I'm thinking about the scenic bikerides that will probably accompany the arrival of Spring weather. Lucky girl!!!
Keep it up!
Nice stats, chica, and that pic of the bridge is beautiful!
ahhhh sounds like a great day...congrats!! Love the pic! Yes I do like to look at snow just don't want it around me -lol
Wow, I love your chart. Very nice way to keep track of everything. Great totals!
That's a great chart! And yes, you CAN stay warm in Winter--amazing how few people know that!
you ROCK !!!
That view is amazing. I am from Georgia and definitely NOT a cold weather runner. January was a bad month for me because it was colder than normal here.
I love road miles better than treadmill miles too-much more interesting.
Check out my new blog sometime. I could use some advice:

Nance.. one word.. brrr! My cousin (after his first winter in Grinnell) cant wait to visit Ga this month!
Awesome month Nancy! And beautiful picture. I wish we cold get a day or two of heavy snow.
Great month Nancy!! =)
Hi Nancy
Very cool picture. I would kill for 38 degrees right about now as we have been pretty consistenly in the low 20s. One of these days if I am really lucky, I will get to run with you and Amy. I love how you said "4 nice miles" because it makes it quite clear that you really enjoyed the run... and that is what it is all about. Good company, a beautiful day, and a positive mind sure make those miles go by so enjoyably that you just don't want them to end.
Hope your March training goes as well as February.
You're right about the layering, today I went for a run where I was nice and warm at the start and I knew better--by milepost 1 I was hot and I ran the miles overheated. But at least I was out, after being inside on projects all day. That's a lovely photo, I like running in the fresh snow, coming back on a trail I try to match my footprints going out.
Honestly, where are your running? I swear you are running across every postcard I've ever received. Much nicer views than the bland suburbia I call home.
Look at those stats!! And yay for 154!
