Speed Round

  • I'm here, I'm just swamped
  • I'm also hurting and haven't felt like blogging
  • I miss you all
  • My corneal ulcer is now just a scar, but only after being "debrided". UGH.
  • I've worn my contacts for a total of 4 hours. :D
  • NYC was fun although I wasn't able to garner a blogger meet-up :(
  • I could hole up at the Alex hotel for a month in Manhattan and be happy as a clam
  • I'd love to do a "secondment" ( I had to look it up ) and at least be there a little.
  • I also went to Chicago for a couple days for meetings
  • My colleagues are so dang smart and it's usually a little daunting
  • I haven't run in over a week
  • I finally faced facts that my hip and back hurt almost all the time
  • Apparently limping for the first 4 or 5 steps you take after any sitting isn't normal
  • It's worse after sex
  • This has been going on for a year
  • I know, I know, I don't like to talk about it (one of the few things)
  • I am saddened by my loss of mileage and endurance but I think I have to figure out what is wrong
  • An MRI is probably next
  • The words spina bifida were used about one part of one of my vertebrae in an xray overread- the guy said not remarkable, but STILL!!
  • Muscular versus skeletal? Can't seem to make the call.
  • It's hard to read marathon reports when I suck, but I still do read them. You guys really rock and I am so proud of you. And Tri people just rock times three :D
  • We might join a gym that has a pool. I'm.so.excited.
  • My baby finds out if his broken arm is healed tomorrow
  • I am starting to realize what life is going to be like with two sports-minded little kids
  • I wish the Cubs would win a game
  • That's about it for now
  • Thanks for friends who inquire if I am okay. :D I'm okay.

Oh, Nancy. You are in for a lifetime of pain... as a Cubs fan. :) Good to hear from you my friend, and lots of love to you.

It's worse after sex? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo! ;-)

Go to the doctor and demand (I mean DAMAND) that they find out what's going on. Sometimes you need to get a little rough with those guys to get them working for you. Squeeky wheel and all that. Get it taken care of and I bet you will be back out on the roads before you know it.

I wonder if you have something going on with your sacroiliac joint. Sounds eerily familiar to what a friend suffered from after a car accident.

Hope you get some answers soon!

Great to hear you are ok despite the back problems... =( that sucks. Get it checked now!!

That sentence ressemble me...
"Apparently limping for the first 4 or 5 steps you take after any sitting isn't normal"

Really... so it's NOT normal?!!!

Kent said...

Look at it this way - at least it's not worse during it. :-O

I am sorry to hear that you are still dealing with the same pains. I can only imagine how frustrating it is by now. Limping the first 4 or 5 steps isn't normal? Tell that to my legs this week. I am glad to know you are OK.

Hey Nancy, hang in there. I know that it is so frustrating when one setback after another keeps getting in your way... It can really suck you down into the black hole if you let it. But don't let it! I'm thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed that you soon figure out what is causing the pain so you can get it sorted. Be strong!

I was wondering where my motivator went. You're one of the reasons I started this whole "running blogger female thing" ;-).

I'm glad you're alright and getting out and about. Heal quick girlfriend, many prayers!

Hope your hip gets better. Have you ever tried a Chiropractor? I have started seeing one after some back and hip issues and it really helps me

Glad you're blogging a bit. If support and friends were the medicine that would cure you, you'd be better already!

Hang in there.

Glad you are doing okay. Was a bit worried.

Hope you can get your back and hip pain figured out. Pain is no fun.

I wondered where you'd got to.

I hope it all works out on the injury front. Take things gradually - one running step at a time :)

I'm just back from our trip and catching up.. so sorry things aren't going peachy at your house, but I love that so many people here care about you and that you still have really a pretty darn good outlook on life.

Feel free to rant and rave when needed, we understand and love you all the same!

It could be that your hamstring muscles could be tight (our doctor said that sometimes tight hamstring muscles can cause your back to hurt). Hope you get better really soon.

Hi Nancy, I'm sorry to hear about the hip and back issues. I'm having similar problems, and I suspect that the plantar fasciitis is the result of something more sinister, which is why it won't clear up. I asked for a leg length test. I'll get the results next week. I'm hoping that will get things on the right track. For now the Diva who used to run 10K per day is now lucky to run 5K every week. Life is similarly crazy here at the doggy hospice, so I don't post much, or visit much. I hope we both have good news to share soon!
