Maybe this was part of the four trouble.

I came to see how great your 11 miles was, but I am too early so I will stop back again soon to hear your report.Pattyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00303174242363531142noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2318685393163464695.post-35337437653131724642007-08-12T17:00:00.000-05:002007-08-12T17:00:00.000-05:00Nancy, I am sure by now that you have run your 11 ...Nancy, I am sure by now that you have run your 11 and have done fine with it. I am sure that all the negative, scare tactics the uglies tried to use on you, are now as dust in the wind, especially with that big club you carry.

I have found that if you do something enough, you are bound to experience some downs once in a while.

With this in mind, not all of our runs will be what we call good, and some will be even bad.

Now.... If I can only learn to apply that to all of my runs. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2318685393163464695.post-84533760174443124352007-08-12T16:39:00.000-05:002007-08-12T16:39:00.000-05:00I try not to look at runs in terms of worst or bes...I try not to look at runs in terms of worst or best, though it's hard not to. Now I try to imagine each run as an extension of the last one and the next one - that way I'm not too upset with the bad ones and don't get too cocky with the good ones. It's still a work in progress though, so I'm not sure how well it's working... :)

I guess that was a long way of saying don't worry about the crappy 4 miler. It won't affect your 11 coming up. Especially with the knowledge that you've already got a 10 miler in the bag. :)Scott McMurtreyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05879663957608177567noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2318685393163464695.post-18508767841632663142007-08-12T15:01:00.000-05:002007-08-12T15:01:00.000-05:00I had the exact same problem with my 4 mile run th...I had the exact same problem with my 4 mile run this week. I had do do it on the TM at work because it was way too hot here. About 1 mile into it I completely fell apart mentally and gave up. After only a mile!! These things happen and they make us stronger in the end. Hang in there, you're doing great!katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09714288307051742842noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2318685393163464695.post-74442289064096124972007-08-12T13:04:00.000-05:002007-08-12T13:04:00.000-05:00I always do worse on treadmills then I do outside,...I always do worse on treadmills then I do outside, there is so much less distraction then running through neighborhoods, etc.

I am sure you will do just fine! I can run outside for an hour and next time get on the treadmill the next run, and can't make it 3 miles??
I'm sure your 11 will fly by.

Good luck to you in your training!

CCAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11386290435798337548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2318685393163464695.post-70084293465129453342007-08-11T21:22:00.000-05:002007-08-11T21:22:00.000-05:00Just wanted to tell you don't be scared of tomorro...Just wanted to tell you don't be scared of tomorrow. I have seven planned myself, which is a new longest distance for me, but let's make a deal to each not be scared. :) Everyone has a bad run once in a while, I guess we've all got to learn to shake it off.The Lexicologisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03266463847627834932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2318685393163464695.post-88553915965695503412007-08-11T20:24:00.000-05:002007-08-11T20:24:00.000-05:00Thank you for visiting the other day!! Start slow, stay slow and then find a pool - it is going to be tough tomorrow. But nothing that will stop a woman who can run on a treadmill - ick!
Amy
http://blog.runnerslounge.comAmy@RunnersLoungehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10903223842488918554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2318685393163464695.post-74530141420188702692007-08-11T11:50:00.000-05:002007-08-11T11:50:00.000-05:00Good luck with it. You have plenty of time before the big race.

CrankySinglehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02065087064121131420noreply@blogger.com
